Holly Hunter is an American actor and producer who is well-known for her high-quality performance in movies such as Broadcast News The Firm The Piano and The Incredibles. The actress won numerous awards, like an Oscar for her role in the film Piano. Her career in acting started in Broadway with a variety of Broadway as well as Off Broadway productions. It has always been her passion. In fifth grade, she was cast as Helen Keller in an original production. Mumps led her to lose hearing in one her ear canals, but that did not stop her from fulfilling her dream. When she was a teenager she studied drama, and then moved into New York City. Hunter was introduced to Beth Henley by chance in the lift. Together, they wrote Broadway Crimes of the Heart. This was Hunter's acting debut. She made the move from New York to Los Angeles and tried to land movie roles. For Swing Shift, she landed a role as a support. She has since appeared in numerous movies, television shows as well as movies throughout the span of a 30 year career. Holly Hunter was awarded a Hollywood Walk of Fame Star and the Women in Film Lucy Award.
